Eco-friendly
Tropical rainforests are the lungs of our planet and a critical factor in its health. The Amazon Basin alone stores 400 million metric tons of CO2 per year – about 25% of all carbon stored on land, and it produces 20% of the world’s oxygen.
Nearly 4,500 acres of rainforests are lost every hour from illegal logging, mining, agriculture, forest fires, and oil drilling, resulting in a lot more carbon in the atmosphere – and a lot less oxygen. Rainforest Partnership works directly with rainforest communities to sustainably develop products found in the forest, giving the community a stake in keeping their trees intact.
When the trees are more valuable standing than cut, we can all breathe easier.

Balloons are the bi-product of rubber trees which are helping to combat climate change by providing oxygen to our planet. We love that the impact of balloons is a biodegradeable eco-footprint that is so small compared to the impact they provide. The refuse does not even fill one trash bag from an installation. Balloons By Tommy shared an image that shows the impact and the amount of biodegradeable refuse after the event. per Tommy “one bar minute of service made more trash than the whole balloon installation at this event.” What else makes such a large impact and has such a small eco-footprint? The side effects of providing homes for rainforest animals, a sustainable industry to indigenous communities and providing oxygen for the planet is an added bonus. Make your events eco-friendly with latex balloons.
Triple Your Qualified Leads
Maryland, Dc and Virginia base Graul’s Market is increasing their ROI at their community days with custom balloon art.
Triple Your Qualified Leads At Community Events
Getting Qualified Leads is what it is all about. It’s Spring and community events are springing up all around your community. It is time to get out there and market your business. People buy things from people they know, like and trust. Having a presence at an event is a start. In Short, I am sure you are giving thought to give aways with your business information on and the first question is, what will people take home and keep? Or maybe it will be, how can I entice people to give me their information for follow up after the event to build that rapport. Your goal is to convert attendees to buyers in the quickest way possible. While there are no real short cuts, there are ways that make each touch a higher quality touch.
How You Can Successfully Convert Attendees to Know, Like and Trust You
This is where balloons (yes, I said balloons) come in. With a focus in sales and marketing, we put that knowledge to work for our clients. If you want to hear more about how we can add your branding to each sculpture, give us a call. We would love to customize your event for you. We want to get to know your product, learn who your end client is and get the qualified leads talking to you to make your day more profitable. When I say balloons, I am not talking about helium balloons with your business name on that I see flying away time after time. They keep the child happy for the moment but they are soon gone along with the memory of having th
em and the business they represent. You have the perfect opportunity to make that first step to get attendees to know, like and trust you. And they will be taking home a piece of art that will last anywhere from 1 week to 1 month (I have some clients who have that balloon 1 year later!) Give me a call to discuss ways that we can add your contact info to turn those balloons into your business card either by attaching info or branding the balloons. We have some creative ways which we see giving back to our clients in closed leads, time after time.
Why Twisted Balloons are a Better Alternative to Helium Balloons
Dont make the mistake of thinking helium balloons are just as good as twisted balloons. With the focus on environment and safety for our wildlife I caution you to stop the practice of helium balloon giveaways. Not all publicity is good publicity, and when that balloon flies away and the attached ribbon is found possibly wrapped around a sea turtles, your business name is on there. I have worked side by side with people handing out helium balloons, and the amount of time my client has to engage the attendees is much higher than the neighboring table handing out balloons. Instead, use biodegradable balloons that are using air, a natural resource, that are twisted into fun shapes and are creating “toys” which will keep a child contented for hours (although you only need a few minutes to make your approach). Those balloons will be going home with your business name and fond memories of the moments spent at your booth.

NYE Balloon Drop: Creating a Fun Time for Families
New Year’s Eve is a fun time for all ages! It’s a special time for parents with young children because the whole experience is new for the kids. There is a balloon drop, sparkling cider, confetti and it’s celebrated all around the world. That being said, the late bedtime and constant excitement often creates tired toddlers by the time midnight arrives. We compiled a list of things that we recommend to involve your toddlers in the New Years Eve celebration to create a fun and happy experience for everyone!
10 Things to do with Preschoolers for New Years Eve
- Purchase special New Year’s Eve pajamas and have a New Year’s Eve pajama party for everyone, including Mom and Dad!
- Youtube has a lot of fun videos. They even have videos of previous New Year’s Eve ball drops that look almost identical to what will be happening at midnight this year. Queue up a video from a previous New Year’s Eve event on your television and when the clock strikes 8:30: celebrate in full force with your toddlers! After that, the kids can go to bed so that they are well rested when the new year actually arrives.
- Clear some space for a dance floor and have a dance party with your toddlers!
- Dress up! Even if you’re staying at home on New Year’s Eve, pull out your fanciest clothing and go dapper with your preschoolers. The simple act of dressing up will make the night feel immediately more special.
- Create resolutions with your kids: we want our kids to have goals and be motivated, especially as they get older. Creating positive habits with them through example is one of the best ways to guide them as they grow. Use this as a teaching experience to help them flex their “motivational muscles.” Once you have worked with them to create their goals, hang the goals on the refrigerator to keep them motivated in the New Year!
- Play games! You can create or find fun New Year’s Eve themed games online. Create a word search or even a scavenger hunt.
- Create noisemakers. Noisemakers are very much a part of the New Year’s Eve experience. Create a small craft station with household items that your kids can utilize as midnight draws nearer. Find instructions here.
- East Coast Mommy created this clever concept. She created “Hour-by-hour” activity bags that gave her kids activities. It’s such a fun idea!
- Create a Photo booth! You can create props with your kids for your own personal photo booth. I heart naptime shared some of their favorite props here.
- Use a family-size balloon drop! Balloon drops are a staple of many big parties and your kids will be seeing them on television, too. You can create your own balloon drop or find a local balloon distributor. Because the size is smaller than massive balloon drops, you should be able to purchase one for an affordable price.
A photo from a Family-sized balloon drop this year (One of many!)
We created something called a family-size balloon drop that allowed families to enjoy together. It’s a twist on the classic balloon drop and helps families to enjoy the New Year’s Eve experience, especially with little ones who weren’t quite able to handle the excitement of staying up until midnight.
Everyone had such a fun time creating memories. We are still receiving videos from excited parents who used the Family-size Balloon Drop with their kids! Check out one of the balloon drop videos below!

Stuff Your ELF!
If you have a child that still believes in Santa, then it’s likely you have a little elf living in your house.
A “magical” elf that flies back to the North Pole each night to report to Santa whether your child has been naughty or nice, and then reappears the next morning in a new location in your home. This little elf likes to play hide-and-seek, so upon his return from the North Pole, you could find him anywhere, from your freezer (which reminds him of the North Pole) to hanging from your chandelier. Your child should be boosted not to touch the elf, as he will lose his magic, but they’re encouraged to tell him any special messages they have for Santa.
Are you ready to bring your elf back, Trist’n Shout is ready to present your elf in his magical world that he has lived it! Email to rose@tristnshout.com or www.facebook.com/paballoons to set your delivery up for your magical elf delivery.
Now serving the DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia area, specifically, Gaithersburg, Rockville, Urbana, Bethesda, Potomac, NW DC, and Northern Virginia.
Price includes delivery of your elf in his magical house.
How to enjoy a meal with children
Do you find yourself wishing for the days when you could sit down, order a beverage and a nice dinner and be able to finish your meal without hearing “I’m bored”, “Can we go now?” With small children, this can be a challenge!
You don’t have wait until the children are grown, there is a way to do that now! Look for restaurants that have entertainment for the children. They know the value of a good meal uninterrupted and they put the extra effort to make sure that you have an enjoyable time at their table. While coloring pages are a beginning, a child who has a short attention span is not going to be as entertained long. Often the same restaurants that offer entertainment will offer a kids eat free day on the same day as the entertainment, like Millers Rockville Ale House on the Rockville Pike in Rockville, MD. Tuesday is kids day with them and Trist’n Shout is on site making balloons from 6-8 for the kids and helping parents to have an enjoyable family dinner without the drama. Try it out and you can once again enjoy a meal with a cold beverage and happy kids who want to stay longer while they are waiting for their balloons or just watching all the fun things that are being made throughout the night.
Mondays you can find Trist’n Shout at Senor Tequilas, 20021 Century Blvd, Germantown, MD from 6-8.
If you are in Western, Md Buffalo Wild Wings in LaVale, MD has balloons and facepainting from 5-8. Check out the local offerings from your area to find restaurants that offer entertainment for kids and ask your favorite restaurant if they would consider bringing some fun to their restaurant. If the managers know there is interest, you might find they are willing to add some value to their restaurant.

Good morning and Happy Monday!
You know that moment when you get to be a part of something incredibly fun and you just have to share it with your friends? We had that happen recently. It was a typical Tuesday morning when I received a phone call from one of my favorite balloon colleagues: Nick the Balloonatic. He was asked to be on the Meredith Vieira show and he wanted Trist N Shout to be a part of the segment! It was the September 11th Memorial show and he was a First Responder on 9/11 thirteen years ago.
Fast forward to the day of the filming. We had been working diligently since the day before to create an AMAZING balloon set. We made everything, and I mean EVERYTHING: the backdrop, things for the audience, even balloon chairs from Meredith and Nick to sit on!
To finish off the day, we made a look-a-like for the one and only Everett Bradley!

One last photo of balloon art goofiness, check it out! I think I look pretty good in the Director’s chair. What do you think?

Surprise, surprise. I’m drinking more coffee! I’m also looking through some fun photos from a photoshoot with our gorgeous model, Sarah.
I don’t know if you know this, but one of my favorite things is to create balloon dresses for different events. They are so radically different from anything that people have seen. It makes people stop, stare and take pictures. Plus, the different techniques and designs that we get to create are usually a once-in-a-lifetime design. Just everything about the process is so much fun and artistic!
For each shoot, I look for an inspiration piece…a defining theme that runs throughout the whole dress. For this dress, I drew inspiration from the black and white striped scarf that you see around her neck. I wanted to make a dress that felt very vintage and retro, so we turned it into a halter top. Of course, you have to make sure to take time for the hair, makeup, shoes, and jewelry accessories. Everything has to mesh.
Sarah has gorgeous hair that allowed us to do victory curls in the front. We added a “pop” of red(pun intended) with the shoes and earrings…and then completed the look with the makeup…winged eyeliner. One thing that I’ve learned, if a girl shows up late to a party and she has winged eyeliner, don’t ask her why she is late. It’s the eyeliner, it’s always the eyeliner. 🙂
Enough about the process, are you ready to see the finished product?
Your Turn: What style of balloon dress would you like to see? I’m always looking for ideas!

Good morning! Remember that moment when you meet a person and you know that they’re the kind of person that you want to spend time with? That’s what happened with this lovely lady and her family. Ruby is vivacious and outgoing with a smile for everyone. To give you an idea, she insisted on giving me a hug when we first met. I had the pleasure of performing at her son’s birthday party about a month ago at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan. It was Superhero themed(Hence the title)! There were so many people in capes and masks…to keep their identity a secret, of course. The kids had such a fun time singing, dancing, climbing around the play area at the museum, and eating cake!..I broke my no-sugar rule and had a cupcake…and it was worth it! Since the theme was superheroes, I made a lot of different characters! Batman, Spiderman, Superman, Wolverine, and my personal favorite: the Hulk! The little superhero that I created it for rocked the costume accessory all evening. Of course, there was one of two heroes that weren’t shy about their identity being revealed. They brought along special guests like Mom, Dad, and their trusty sidekick(Super Nanny!). Being a superhero is definitely not just for boys. There was more than one Super Girl at the party(with color coordinated mask). Last bit of cuteness: this little superhero was so cute with his Mama! Your Turn: Who is YOUR favorite superhero? Special thanks to Sylvester of INNY photography. He is incredibly talented and creates stunning art with his camera. Check out his site for a more of his work. Until next time. Stay twisted, friends! ~Tristen
